The dealer unlocks at five and starts filling seats gradually rather than all at once, so nobody walks into a full room.
Wednesdays lean toward euchre, with a bridge table usually going too if someone rang ahead to reserve it.
By the weekend the balance shifts to five hundred and whist, and a short queue can form if you arrive right on the hour.
Getting a stack
Chips come with the door fee — no separate purchase needed.
First visit
Say so at the door and the dealer will slow the first hand down.
